My name is Liberty Cowden, and I serve as a Professor of Cardiac Sonography at an inner city community college, where I teach, mentor, and support students preparing for careers in diagnostic cardiovascular  sonography.

My work centers on developing curriculum aligned with CAAHEP as well as ASE competencies, strengthening clinical readiness, and creating learning environments that balance rigor, compassion, and professional authenticity.
 

Across my career, I have been committed to helping students build confidence, competence, and a sense of belonging in a demanding healthcare field. I believe that education is most powerful when it is relational, reflective, and grounded in real‑world application
